I’ve got a new job. Starting 21 Februrary I will be IT Manager / Web Developer for Unanimis Consulting Ltd. I’m really excited about it and I can’t wait to start. It is a combination of sysadmin stuff and web development and the office is on Tottenham Court Rd – five minutes from Uni. Andrew works for the sister company Awarez in the same office so it should be fun.
We went back to Australia for a couple of weeks on New Year’s Day which was fun in a busy kind of way. It’s always a bit of a culture shock going from London to Adelaide or vice versa – even more so when there is a forty degree temperature difference – but we soon got into the Adelaide swing of things and it was good to spend time with family and friends. I’m back at Uni three nights a week now which is hard work but interesting.
We are doing recursion which is when a function calls itself. It still seems a little bit weird to me when I get to the point in a recursive function that I am writing where it calls itself even though I haven’t finished writing the function yet. It reminds me of that bit at the end of Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventure where they keep getting out of a fix by saying things like:
“Bill, we’ve got to remember in the future to go back and put that garbage can there or this won’t have happened.”
“But it did happen!”
“Excellent!”
