A new job

A few exciting things have happened round here lately that have kept me busy and unable to update the site for a while.
Firstly, Mark and Marnie have arrived in London (although as I write this they are preparing to fly to Switzerland to see the Tour de France), and they have joined the select few who have had the honour of bedding down in one of London’s finest establishments.

Secondly, I have started my new job. I am now a PC Support Specialist, supporting three floors of users at HMV’s head office as well as quite few offsite users. I have almost finished my first week there and am still getting used to it. It is quite a change from what I have been doing for the last four years. I sit all day, as opposed to walking probably a few miles, for one thing. I’m still the New Guy and I miss my friends from the Oxford Street store, but it’s messing about with computers so I like it. 🙂
I had a few quiet drinks to celebrate my last shift at 360 at the Pontefract Castle and there are pictures of the occasion in the gallery. Also there are a couple of pictures from the Summer Sale.

Speaking of computers, I’m creating this update on my new PC which I built last weekend. For those who care this is the nerdy stuff:

  • AMD Athlon XP2600+ 333MHz FSB
  • Asus A7N8X Deluxe motherboard with onboard dual LAN, Firewire, support for the 333Mhz FSB and dual channel PC3200 RAM (512MB)
  • Hitachi (IBM) DeskStar 123GB HDD
  • 52/24/52 CD-R/RW
  • 15″ LCD

So, it’s quite cool. I had a lot of fun putting it all together and was well chuffed when it worked first time. There are pictures in the gallery.

That’s it, really. It’s been very hot here this last week; today was about 29 (that’s hot).

Cheers!
